Project description:
The project is part of the Linking Borderlands consortium, lead by the University of the Saarland.
The sub-project Communicative Borderlands: Social Practice and Language in the Context of Vocational Training, led by Prof. Dr. Konstanze Jungbluth and Prof. Dr. Nicole Richter, deals with language learning in context of cross-border professional education. As part of the project, both topics will be investigated and comparatively evaluated:
- state and local activities at different institutional levels in favour of cross-border vocational training, including regional cross-border economic and social policies (among with actors in schools, businesses and chambers of commerce),
- as well as concrete social practice of plurilingual verbal and virtual discussion situations of the trainees and young adults from Poland and Germany with regard to their cultural negotiation processes.
