Border Crossers in Theory and Practice - From the Permeability of the Border to the Liminality of New Actors and Spaces

Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice, 07-11 October 2015

The five-day event was dedicated to the interdisciplinary examination and heuristics of border concepts as well as various thematic focal points, whereby border crossers were addressed both in the form of institutions (e.g. cross-border cooperation) and in the form of subjects (e.g. mediators).

The Autumn School thematically centred around the following question: What is the relationship between the permeability of borders and boundaries and the emergence of new actors and spaces? And what role does the figure of the border crosser play in this?"
